Quadra Media Update

The work continues on the VOIP phones. The head end hardware has been replaced and this should result in much improved phone functioning. Residents who are using VOIP phones need to contact Quadra Media to have their phone re-provisioned to work with the new hardware. They do not have the resources to contact each resident individually, so they are asking residents to contact them to arrange for the service. They have already re-provisioned 7 customers and their VOIP phones are functioning great. To have your phone re-provisioned, you can contact Quadra Media Works at (888) 534-3317 and select option 3. If you have any problems, please contact Sharon Andersen with the HOA management at (435) 755-7829 or sandersen@redeagledevelopment.com.

I vote that the entertainment package be eliminated. Let us get our own individual TV and internet providers with services that actually function.

Anonymous said...

I second that!

That would be a good idea. Can we arrange a separate security vendor? Now might be a good time with the changes with Quadra.

I also agree with that. I would much rather have Comcast internet, or DirectTV. Quadra has been a complete joke to work with and their services have been horrible. I actually regret moving here because of the services they have provided. You can only be patient for so long, calling them 15 times in a month and never hearing from them will do that to you!

I agree. O would much rather deak with that stuff myself I had comcast for years before I moved here and I never had to call because of issues.I want some options.....

Just got off the phone with Quadra. For the package I can get with DirectTV with HD and a DVR for $53. They want $179.95. Seems like the pricing is a little off as well. I agree with what everyone has said above.

I had the same problems. I wanted to upgrade to the DVR because I had it through Comcast at my last house. What quadra is asking for is completly rediculous. Aren't we supposed to be getting a great deal? When I talked to them they told me to compare their pricing with everyone else. I did, and everyone else is much cheaper. Wish I would have looked into this a little bit more before I decided to purachse in Bridgerland Meadows.

I feel the same way. I think a change NEEDS to be made.

Please see the announcement in with the March Newsletter regarding Quadra Media. We are working diligently to get another service provider for technology.
Thank you for your continued patience on this matter.

Save yourself the time, and just let us get our own service providers.

I agree letting us choose our own providers would be much better. For instance I would like to have HD programming, along with certain sport channels. It is very unlikely that you will be able to find a provider that will be able to fill those wants. I would be much happier if I was able to choose my own providers.

I actually have talked to a few people who have considered buying a townhome in Bridgerland Meadows, but won't because of the media package. They want to be able to choose, and even though it is just a small thing, it is enough to keep them from buying in the development. Seems like reason enough to do away with it.

I can understand that satellite dishes on the roofs might look bad, and I think that is part of the reason why we are not allowed to choose our own provider. But I think at one point or another it is going to have to happen. I really do find it ethical to make a person use a service that is subpar, and then have the ability to charge those people at any rate they see fit. I think it causes a monopoly because we are unable to choose our provider and then we are forced to pay any rate they tell we have to. It seems a little silly to me. Let go of the leash and let us choose our own providers.

Guys a certain someone is making money on forcing us this package through quadra media i think its one of the builders? Put up a dish let them try to get an attorney it wont hold water. You have to offer what you promise on your website and if not then it's false advertisement!(HOA I'm sure you monitor this so this is directed to you) We should be able to get our own entertainment package! by the way where is the HD tv like they promised? Also if you want HD you have to get it from comcast or a direct source. these lines will not allow HD services Did you know that? This develpoment is not going to look out for the best interests of its tenents/home owners, Just themselves and getting paid! Anyone thought about calling a local media affilate and letting them know just how unfair this really is?

I agree, the only reason we have kept our ties with CONEXUS/QUADRA MEDIA is the developers have personal business ties to the companies. They have said in HOA meetings last year that they had put money into the company and they would not let them fail AGAIN. Maybe they should change their name again and keep providing us with POOR service or everyone needs to voice their concerns to the HOA and BLOG but don't be anonymous they need to know how many different people are so unhappy with the Technology package. We need to stick together as homeowners and get the service we all want.

Okay, I agree we could sure get better television, mine is blurry and sometimes has wavy lines. My computer service is sometimes nonexitant and sometimes very slow, especially on holidays, which seems to mean that they didn't plan on all of us being online at the same time. They should plan on that. To upgrad with quadra is way expensive. I also wonder about the security system? What happened to the online monitoring of the playground as is mentioned in the sales info? Does it all have to be one big package? Can we separate these services? I sure would like to separate them. I don't need the phone system at all. Some people may not need the TV or internet and yet have to pay for it all. I think if we had a real superior service we would not be complaining at all. Thanks for listening!!!

Agreed, We should not have to fight to get the services that we are paying for. We should not have to put up with poor service, I don't care who owns the company. It is ridiculous that we have to fight just so we can have TV that is no blurry, or have a annoying hum on every program, not to mention the fact that the company does not answer your calls or return them. It is stupid to have to deal with slow Internet when you are required to work from home. Or no Internet at all for that matter. We pay for a service and we expect to get it.

I 100% behind getting ride of Quarda and being able to choose our own providers.

Today there was a truck working on the system. It was a truck from AMIUtah.com. I hope it is true we might see some changes soon. Hopefully it is not Conexus under a new name again!!!!

What Don and the HOA management is doing is very dishonest. Like mentioned, they are getting kickbacks from everyone that they are forcing into the service contracts. Now they are just looking for another company with the same sort of benefits.

They are not interested in the best interest of the home owners.

One of the biggest concerns I see is that they stated the HOA would be turned over to the owners after completion of Phase I. But clearly they are holding onto control until they have made their money from the forced contracts and they will continue to hold control until that is done.

Don't plan on things being fixed until they have made their money and turned over control of the HOA.
Or we get together and form a sub HOA that is really concerned about the development and has the owners best interest in mind.

From the looks of the AMIUtah.com website it is a startup company as well. Meaning we will have to expect the same kind of service we are receiving now. Not to mention that they are based in Orem so we can expect any issues to take a lot of time to get resolved. I would also imagine that we will not receive HD channels and our Internet will continue to be slow when there are a lot of people using it.

This is all speculation, but from what I have seen and read we will be in the same boat we are in.

Please let us choose our own providers!

I am glad to see I am not alone. When will we be able to all meet with the developers and express our concerns in person.

There are a few of your comments that I would like to address as I feel that some of your information is not accurate.
First of all, there are many legitimate complaints.
There are some items on this blog that I would like to clarify. The AMI truck that some of you saw was there on a service call for an issue unrelated to your technology system.
Also, Rich was under the impression that the control of the HOA was to be turned over to the Homeowners before the projct was completed. That is absolutely untrue. Before the project was ever started, the CC&R's were drawn up and clearly state that the builder retains control until the subdivsion is complete. To my knowledge this is consistent and standard practice among homeowners associations. This is for the protection and wellbeing of all involved.
In retrospect, it would have been much easier to go with the conventional communication options seen in most developments. Our intentions were to have a superior system without any visible exterior equipment or wiring. Unfortunately, the system has never performed as was promised, and has been our number one source of customer dissatisfaction. Please understand that we are doing everything in our power to attempt to satisfy our customers. We are listening to your concerns and want you to be happy.
We are grateful for your patience and do know that this casts a negative shadow on us as developers. Please again understand that we thought we were providing a state of the art system that would surpass typical services available in our area. We are actively working to deliver the services you expect.
Thank You

Connie:

It has been stated in previous HOA Meetings by Don that the HOA Management would be turned over to the Home Owners as soon as 100 units were sold. When can we expect our services to improve? I've been waiting for 2 years!!!! Let us run our own neighborhood.

ETS said...

You also need to update your website and stop selling with the false hope that they are buying into a technologically advanced community.

Anonymous said...

Was the motive to provide superior technology or make kickbacks? Because if the motive was to have superior services and that motive has panned out over 2 yrs, and nobody wants the service, then it appears the solution is obvious.

Anonymous said...

I agree that you might have had good intentions, but I have to tell you I am down right mad at what services we are currently receiving. Part of the reason I purchased a home here was because I was promised "300 + Channels, HDTV, and Ultra-High Speed Internet" As written on several papers I received during closing and is written clearly on the website for the development. I will not be patient anymore, you can only as a person to be patient for so long. False advertising, and not delivering on a product promised is not lawful or fair. Get you act together and make a change, or I will have to take measures the make sure the process is hurried along. I often times work from home and the awful services effect that. Give me what I was promised or let me choose my own provider, you have spent all of my patience.

I can't even get the Jazz games that are on FSN! If I had any other service provider this would be possible. I know the Jazz games aren't that big of deal to some people, but that is almost the only time I watch t.v., so it is a big deal to me. Very frusterating to live in Utah, and have to watch the Colorado teams because I decided to live in Bridgerland Meadows.

Anonymous said...

You’re not alone; I have the same problem with not being able to watch the Jazz games! I got an ad today from Comcast for $65 you can get high speed internet, TV (that includes the option of upgrading to a DVR at a reasonable price) and Phone. I understand that is a promotion, but even if it was twice that at least you could get a hold of someone at Comcast to address problems.

After some of the last comments were left, I decided to see what it actually says on the Bridgerland Meadows website. Here is a direct quote:
"Advanced digital cable TV – With more than 300 available channels, on-demand programming, local stations, a community access channel and HDTV support (no tuner necessary) in one system, there’s no need to subscribe to multiple services."
It says right in there that no tuner is necessary. That is the exact opposite of what I was told when I called to see about getting High Definition TV. I was told that I had to either rent a tuner from them or purchase one (they are around $300). Why is Bridgerland Meadows getting away with having this false information on their website?

Anonymous said...

The Jazz games are one of my biggest complaints as well. I enjoy watching them, and it makes me very angry that I have to travel 25 miles to my brothers house just to watch them, when they are on FSN. Besides that fact that I can't watch them in HD when it is offered.
