Technology

We have signed a contract with Kelly Electronics to be our exclusive service provider for Direct TV and Dish Network satellite TV service. It is essential that our satellite company provide clean retrofit installations and warranty common equipment used by multiple units. Therefore, other companies or individuals will not be allowed to install their equipment in our development.
There are some restrictions on the number of receiver boxes you can have. Also, if you want to have Comcast internet, you will not be able to have satellite TV as both Comcast and satellite TV utilize the same line. If you currently have Qwest available (Phase I) to your home, you can combine satellite TV with Qwest phone/internet service.
Phase II and III residents should have Qwest available within the next 30-45 days. Qwest has promised this, but sometimes delays are inevitable.
Kelly Electronics is located at 585 W 100 N Suite D in Providence. There phone number is 752-5678.

Why do we have a tech fee included in our HOA each month.... What Tech is their being provided?? NONE that I can see, I have not, to date, recieved any benift of this service/charge to my knowledge since i've lived here. Let it be a free market in here. We should be able to choose who we want to provide us these services without a fee. I don't feel I should pay the HOA to make it "available" to sign up with Qwest or Comcast... The HOA should be designed for the up keep our development, such as the "grass" (if we can losely call it that) and landscape care, care of the buildings extior...Not for the paying of replaced grass due to the oversized dogs crap which kills the lawn. (I've noticed that there are pets that exceed the weight limit... do some "special people" get exceptions I do believe that it is in the regulating codes of Bridgerland Meadows HOA) I guess to condense my comments I would just request that the HOA not be set up to make money or to be a secondary buisness for the developers. Our or any HOA is designed to benifit the development to which it pertains. I am some what learly that this is the true purpose of our current HOA.... Any HOA is for the reinvesting into said development....

Dear Anonymous,
The HOA fees are definitely "for the reinvesting into said development". The technology portion of the monthly HOA dues goes to support the infrastructure delivering Comcast to each unit and as we move forward other technology service providers. Therefore each resident does directly benefit from that portion of the dues just as they benefit from all the other dues collected. We are in the process of creating a "free market" and soon you will have several technology options.
Regarding the over-sized dogs - yes this is a problem we have not "allowed" any of them to come into the development and we have learned of the dogs long after they have moved in. We are working with each of the owners with over-sized dogs and are making progress. Our goal is to strictly maintain the 20 lb weight limit. Also dog owners pay an extra monthly assessment so that any damage done by pet does not fall to non-pet owners.
